When we bought the adjoining land to expand our commitment to captive breeding of endangered animal species, we also bought the beautifully maintained old homestead situated on it.

Our plan was to turn the homestead into an overnight zoo stay where families could stay overnight, have an evening meal and a torchlight tour of the zoo with us, and wake up to the sounds of lions roaring and monkeys and apes whooping and hollering to welcome in the new day.

Unfortunately the cost of State and Regional government compliance to do this makes the whole idea unattainable for us.

It was a good idea while it lasted!

We hope to revisit this idea after the drought breaks and life gets back to normal.

In the meantime, we hope that State and Regional government revisit their charges which are currently stifling initiatives like this.
