VISITOR INFORMATION

The Darling Downs Zoo is open to the public every weekend, every day during the Queensland State school holidays and every Queensland public holiday with the exception of Christmas Day.

The zoo opens at 9am. Last admissions are at 4pm. The gates close at 5pm.

DAILY EVENTS include:

10.30am AUSSIE REPTILE DISPLAY

Get up close and personal with Australia's unique reptiles. Our reptile rangers will introduce you to lizards, freshwater turtles, pythons, venomous snakes and even a baby crocodile! Learn all about what makes them tick, ask as many questions as you like and even bring along your camera and take a lasting memento of your experience.

11am ZOO TOUR

Take a walking tour of the entire zoo with one of our keepers as your guide. You will be entertained and informed by a running commentary of our four legged family while also having the opportunity to see some of them being fed. Your littlies can help us feed the deer and wallabies so don't forget the camera.

12 noon SAUSAGE SIZZLE

Cooked right before your eyes and tantalising your tastebuds! A standard sausage, sauce and bread Aussie tradition for just $2 per serve with all the proceeds contributing to the welfare of our animals.

2pm SNAKE PHOTOS

Your opportunity to have your photo taken with a harmless Australian python at no extra cost. You bring along your camera and we'll supply the python!

Keep checking the website as new attractions and events will be featuring at the zoo during 2008

Zoo facilities include EFTPOS, a kiosk selling pies, sausage rolls, crisps and twisties, ice creams, cold drinks and REAL COFFEE, a souvenir shop, free use of the zoo BBQs if you would prefer to cook your own meat, a shady picnic area, free car parking with ample room for caravans and toilets for the disabled. Feel free to bring your own picnic if you would prefer. The zoo is wheelchair accessible.

In keeping with world's best practice for animals and families, the Darling Downs Zoo is an alcohol and smoke free zone.
